TRIPLES 2015

Another one of our favoruite shows through the year.

On a plus point, lads took some stuff and sold on the bring and buy.

Our best game - which we went back to again was the Mad Max Lorry Chase.

I remember this from years ago, and we played it 2 years ago. Its a great, fun game.
The game is based on the Mad Max chase at the end of the 2nd film (my fav of the 3)
Everyone plays the "bad" guys and we have to stop the lorry moving 100 spaces.

We move on relation to the lorry (if it moves 5 and I put 6 then I move 1), we can ram, some can shoot.
Lorries defense is 2 petrol bombers, 2 shooters and of course Max.

Good thing is when a car is destroyed, you can bring this on again or pick another vehicle.

All models are 1/48th scale and models are excellent, as are the guys running it.

Quality of the other games were also up to high standards and those we played were interesting and good.

Onr game that caught our eye was a huge Napoleonic battle, think it was fight for Plancenoit in 25mm.
Table was a frame with a tarp laid on and then filled with sand. Roads were scrapped into into the sand and had flock wa scattered over.

The only game the lads didn't enjoy was a game run by Wargame Developments.
This game was like Monopoly, and around the history of Coastal Command during WW2.
The 6 players all took a plane each (I had a Sunderland Flying Boat) and moved around the board.
Each square landed on we were given a piece of the history which I found interesting. Also there was an oppertunity in various squares to do aircraft recognition and u-boat attacks.

Here's some more pics of other good games seen on the day.

Finally, some pics from the balcony.

Necron (Mark) Vs Space Marine (Adam / Me)

1000 point Battle requested by Mark to try out his new Necron figures.

It was a good  battle, with my Genesis Chapter Marines immobilising the Stalker.

How ever the arrival of the Night Scythe loaded with Lych Guard and an Overlord turned the tide for the Necrons. Taking out the Predator.

Battle ended with a Necron win, only change for Marines would be a 1000 point force rahter than 2 x 500 point armies and minimums required.

And my favourite, first time out for my Chaplain

SALUTE 2015 - Excel, London

Evening train down to London Friday night staying at Premier Inn, Greenwich.
As with all the other Premier Inn's we have stayed at, excellent night and great breakfast.

Early start, with DLR ride to excel. Queued up from about 08:45 so had a wait of just over an hour,

Well worth the wait, once again a great show/

Plenty to buy and loads of games to look at and play. All games were up to a great standard.

Wargames Illustrated put on a participation game - De Montford must die/

We all had a character each -

Adam and myself fared well but not good enough.
Mark, however reached De Montford but was cut down as he was trying to deal the killer blow -

Mark, finished the day 3rd in points overall and received a free copy of the magazine/

Already booked for next year, even managed to book the Premier Inn next to venue, so can have a lie in and not need to leave hotel til 9!!

Here's some pics.

A game based on the filming of 'Sharpes Waterloo' unfortunately Sean Bean was injured during filming so we lost!

More pics from some great games

First pic is new Halo Space Shhip Combat game - models look great.

Definitely a favourite show on the calendar, looking forward to 2016/
