Phalanx Wargames Show, June 2018

The club game for Phalanx this year was a demo of Chosen Men.

Game went well and had positive comments.

There was plenty of time also to look round the show.

As with other years a good selection of both traders and games.

The only down point as normal is the poor lighting.

March 2018

 A few games and outings for March.

Wednesday 7th March
First
game of Osprey Rules Chosen Men.
We played a Peninsular game in 28mm and on the back of this, this was decided for the Phalanx Wargame show Demo.
Although advertised as a skirmish game, i can't help but feel like its a large scale game with 10 and 20 figures a unit.
It can be very bloody game especially for the units that fire first, good game to play even so.

My 50th was looming!!! So as a treat we all went to Warhammer World as always wanted a trip there.
Excellent place and fantastically painted models,

The large diorama was great and there is a hidden Assassin, which if you find him then you get a model of the Assassin, we didn't find it, this time. Pics not great here as lights kept changing colours.

Continuing my review of 2017 gaming.

This time we focus on - Chosen Men

This is a good set of skirmish rules and we have decided to display a game of Chosen Men at Phalnx Show in June.

1st Game - 22nd February 2017
First game and everyone had a unit each, victory went to the French with the Allied Colonel facing a French Dragoon Firing Squad.

2nd Game - 25th October 2017
More units added to the forces, including Cavalry so everyone was up to 2 units each.
For the show we are going for pointed commands and even more units are planned.

This time the allies were victorious, with the French Dragoons feeling the full force of of British volley fire.
